So....

the camera cord arrived yesterday but - IT'S NOT WORKING!!! Now I have ordered a new one from the company I used the first time. It will be another two weeks before any new pictures can be posted but I promise to take some and keep them stored in the camera in the meantime. So annoying!

Update

Puppy ate the camera cord again,, why no new pictures have been posted for a while. A new cable is ordered. Until then, I'm more active on Facebook.

Sweden Trip

Our Sweden trip was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Five pictures was all that I took. We were busy doing more important things. Lots of quality time with family and friends. Could have stayed another two weeks!

Merry X-mas & Happy New year!

We have had a good x-mas and tomorrow it's time to go to Sweden. It's definitely a new experience for me packing for both myself and somebody else. I will bring the camera but I'm not sure if I will have time to update the blog. If not, I will post pictures when I get back to the US. Happy New Year!

Passport is here!

It finally arrived, Loke's passport! Now we're just hoping there will be no delays and that Loke is going to do good on the plane. It has been another good day here in Steamboat. In the morning we went to "Yoga with babies" and after lunch we took Oden for a walk in town. Loke and I went swimming and he was laughing and kicking his little legs like a crazy baby in the pool. Tonight is the annual x-mas dinner up at the college and Max is cooking up a storm. Yummy!

Winter Wonderland

Even though I sometimes get a little bored of living in a small town, I sometimes think it's not a place I rather be. Saturday for example. 4 hours of powder skiing, 1 hour in the hot springs, a walk with all my boys along the river, a dinner out, and a Christmas parade on main street followed by a glass of wine at home in the couch. Loke couldn't come snowmobiling but he practiced his steering with daddy on the driveway.

Big Boy

This pajama has never been washed and it is size 9 months. Loke is not even 5 months old but it fits him like a glove. Max thinks he is going to be a basketball player.

Small town issues

Yesterday we got bored of just hanging around the house so we spent the whole day in Steamboat. But after going for a walk we didn't have much to do there either. Sometimes I get really sick of living in a small town!

This semester I have been using a friend's house when I need a place in Steamboat to hang out for a few hours since it takes too much time going back and forth to Oak Creek where we live. I wish we were super rich and could afford a house in Steamboat, and another one in the Caribbean :)

Today I called about Loke's passport and I went ahead and paid for expedited service because I was nervous he wasn't going to get it in time. Don't want to be in that situation when it's time to go! I have to stay home today because my new phone is being delivered in the afternoon and I have to sign for it. That's about it for now...

Bassinet

Today I reserved a bassinet for the long flights between Newark/Stockholm & Stockholm/Newark. It's going to look somewhat like in this picture. Pretty handy I think! I also upgraded one flight between Denver and Newark to Economy Plus so that I didn't have to sit in a middle seat with Loke for 4 hours. It cost $49.00 more. On all the other flights I fly in Economy but with aisle seats. And on the long flights over the Atlantic I got the first row which was the only row you could get for the bassinet. Now I just hope everything is going to go smooth and with no delays.

Sweden

Yesterday I booked an airline ticket to Sweden for me and Loke. It was a wonderful x-mas gift from my dad. Max was invited too but he wants to get as much snowmobiling in as possible and he also starts work back up two weeks before I do so it will just be me and Loke. We are leaving the 29th and returning the 13th of January. I am really excited yet a little nervous how Loke is going to do on the plane. My sweet mother in law just sent me this picture and that made me wonder if Loke is going to get a pat down as well :)

Mr Big Shot

Today I put Loke on his belly on a blanket meanwhile I made myself some breakfast. And believe it or not but when I came back he was laying on his back! I tried flipping him over to see if he would do it again but with no luck. Trickster!

Swedish Book Tip

I have finished my first book by John Ajvide Lindqvist, "Människohamn" or "Harbour" which is the English title. I really liked it and now I want to read "Låt den rätte komma in" or "Let the right one in" which was his first book and was made into a movie as well. Mamma, it's on my x-mas wishlist :)

Belly Time

The doctor said we should try to force Loke to spend some more time on his belly which he really doesn't like. He does good for a minute or two but then he starts screaming like crazy and it is difficult to not pick him up. "Hönsmamma" as you say it in Swedish!

Thanksgiving Break

Our Thanksgiving break has started! A whole week of quality time.

Today's schedule:
- Haircut for mommy
- Passport for baby
- Rabies shot for puppy

My mommy heart is aching!

Loke got sick from the shots he got today and has a little fever. Earlier his legs seemed to be really sore from the injections and he was crying for a while. It is so heartbreaking, especially since he never really cries for a long time. But the good news is he should be fully recovered within 48 hours.

The doctor said Loke is doing great! He is growing fast and she said he is long and lean (and super cute!) He is now 25½" and weighs 14 lbs and 5 oz (64.7 cm and 6.52 kg). I found my old digital camera and will be using it until I get the new cord.

Shots and Shoes

Today Loke turns 4 months old! We are celebrating by going to the doctor to get two more shots. Poor baby! I thought I'll get him a little present afterward, we'll see what I can find. So far today I have only bought myself a present - new boots! What do you think?

Ready, Steady, Go!

A new helmet is ordered and so is the avalanche gear. Saturday is the 2010/11 season premier of back country skiing! Exciting!

Oden

Hi everybody! So Oden has arrived but the first thing he did when I took my eyes off him for 10 seconds, was eating the cord for our camera so unfortunately no pictures for a while. I am going to try to write something everyday instead to keep you updated. I have ordered a new cable but it will arrive from Hong Kong and it could take up to a month to get here!

Oden is so cute! I had forgotten how much work it is with a puppy and that combined with having a baby is a little overwhelming but also a lot of fun! It is fine during the weekends when Max is home with us but I fear what's going to happen during the week. It's good Thanksgiving break is coming up soon and after that x-mas break.

We have gotten a bunch of snow and poor Oden is from California and is very hesitant to this cold weather. Time to shuffle!

We found this highchair outside the second hand store this morning. "Free - please take" After a little bit of cleaning it looks almost like new. One less thing to buy - perfect!
