Confirmed swine flu cases in Colorado and now I am super worried. Worried that they are going to close down DIA. Would just be my luck...

It's that time of the year

When it's only one day left at work it's not a whole lot that gets done. Right now we are just goofing around telling each other stupid jokes. Jokes that are so dum that they become funny. The funniest one so far was:

- What did the shy pebble say?
- I wish I was a little bolder.

Yeah, that's the level we are at...

Shopping withdrawal

My fingers are itching. I want to update my wardrobe. But in a week I'm on my way. On my way back to Stockholm. If the swine flu doesn't stop me that is.

It's the final countdown

3 days more to go. Then it's summer. Looks like I'm getting about two months off this year. I love it!

Den blomstertid nu kommer

My lovely Lupines, 2 weeks old.

Swine flu?

I have a sore throat and Max thinks I've got the swine flu... All the symtoms are there and we went to Mexico a few weeks ago. He wants to put me in a bubble.

Starurar

When the weather became like thisI made one of these

Ongoing projects

As a first time homeowner I have come to realize that certain around-the-house projects become so much more fun compared to what they are when renting a home. Even though we have had our house for almost a year there are many things we still are missing. However; today we can cross off a shoe rack.
The IKEA gene inside me took over and I managed (with some muscle help from my strong husband) to build one using some of the wood we already had.

I also wanted to show you our little green house where some beans hopefully will pop up later on this summer.

Smelling fresh grass instead of dog dukie

No blogging for a few days due to the wonderful Colorado spring weather. But unfortunately rain is in the forecast so now I'm back in business again. Max is off from his primary job this week so we have had more time to enjoy the sunshine and our yard. Tonight when we get home we are going to try to start up our little greenhouse. We have gotten all kinds of vegetable seeds that we are going to try out. Hoping on seeing some lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, beets, corn, and peas pop up this summer. If not, I am going to keep on trying.

Dude,, I think everybody here is high!

Today it is the 4/20 marijuana celebration in Boulder. I wonder if it is a coincidence that my lovely boss isn't going to come in today?

I say no to tobacco!

The anti smoking people were here. Campaigning. Everybody on campus got to blow in an instrument to find out the health of their lungs. I blew. I conquered. Second best lungs on campus with a lung capacity of 117% out of 100%.

What Max got?
65%

Time of recession

Ok I know you probably have had enough of the dentist talk but I just have to make a correction statement. Our insurance covers it. It covers it all. 100%. So now I have to ask my dear mom to cancel the dentist appointment I made for Sweden. Times are tough. I got to go with the cheapest alternative. Got to save those duckets...

Dissappointment

The master gardeners at work have just burst my bubble saying it is almost impossible to transplant flowers from indoors to outdoors. My heart is broken. Crushed. I really want it to work. Helpful advices are kindly appreciated.

Nu grönskar det i dalens famn

We'll see if I can call myself a master gardener soon...

Power of paper

Max has bribed the dentist. Told them what he wants to get done and what he is willing to pay. Told them it was going to be them or some other practice in town. Cash money only. After less than ten minutes he received a phone call. Ok, we’ll do it!

Sounds good...

Payday

One thing that I really like with my job (probably my favorite thing) is that we get paid once a week. That's four times a month compared to one as in Sweden. I like it a lot!

Gardening update

Max has decided he wants to contribute to my upcoming gardening project. He has started a compost bucket. Every day he brings home scraps of asparagus, celery, carrots, egg shells, lettuce, you name it!

Did I mention he is the Director of Nutrition for a school district with about 2.000 kids? I am worried. Worried that our house soon is going to be buried in potato peels.

It's that time of the year

Now I'm pushing the button that turns off the snow for the season. I've had enough of it, it's time for spring! Time to pick up all the doggy poop in the yard. Time for spring cleaning!

Today's tip

Last week when Max went to the dentist for just a check-up he got a bill for over $400. This even though we have health insurance. So now I decided to have my check-up in May when I am back in Sweden.

I want to tell you about one doctor's visit I did last year. After having severe urinary problems for about five years (which btw was an absolute nightmare) I decided to go to a specialist in Sweden since nobody here had been able to help me. That was the best thing I've ever done. He injected cortisone in my urethra and since then I have been problem free. So if there is anyone out there with painful urinary problems I want to recommend Dr. Håkan Ageheim at Sophiahemmet in Stockholm. And Håkan, if you happen to read this, Thank you so much!

Can't even come up with a title

Get a grip! Something must be going on. What can be worth mention on my blog which I have been neglecting for several days now? Hmm, let see. It is still snowing and tomorrow is going to be our last day on the mountain for the season. They have already announced that season passes are going to be $100.00 cheaper next year. If you buy them before June 1st.

I decided to hold off on my motorcycle purchase. Max is still convinced that we are going to pay our house off in six years. The house that has been ours for almost 11 months now. What our escrow balance currently is? About 1.000 bucks.

I am mentally preparing myself for a summer of gardening. I have absolutely no experience in it so with gardening I mean planting some flowers in pots. How hard can it be? I also want to make our house cozier with some plants, a rug or two, paintings, a new kitchen table and chairs etc. Too bad Max couldn’t care less about things like that.

Speaking about summer, I just updated Max’s webpage, http://www.steamboatschoolfood.com, with the class he is going to teach this summer. This year it will be on Barbeque. Yummy! Yeah, that’s about it for now...
