One less stressfactor

A couple of days ago I finally told my boss I'm pregnant. That was a huge relief because he was really happy for us and said it wouldn't be any problem to change my hours. I am going to work Mondays through Thursdays 8.00 p.m. to 11.30 p.m. and he also said we could keep our Saturdays. That made me very happy because then we can be together as a little family two whole days in the week. Plus we get the usual holidays and breaks together. And our economy won't suffer too bad either.

Another funny thing with that conversation was that my boss said he wouldn't tell anyone "our little secret" (which is becoming more and more obvious). But the next day one of my co-workers goes "You've got that glow in your face, are you pregnant?!" She is the worst lier, and I couldn't do nothing but laugh at her. My boss had told his wife, his wife had told her co-worker, her co-worker had told my co-worker...

So much for keeping a secret :)

Superstition

The other day I had a fortune cookie with the message "You will soon witness a miracle" and the numbers were 8, 14, 17, 24, 30 and 50. Superstitious as I am I strongly beleive that 8 is for August and that the baby will come either on the 14th, 17th, 24th or on the 30th. But what does 50 mean? Oh off course!! It will be 50 cm tall!

Time for an update!

Blogs that don't get updated at least once a day are boring and I have been a bad blogger the last week. So to give you an update on this weekend the most exciting thing was trying out our new sled. We took it up Rabbit Ears Pass and cruised around a little. That thing is smoother than my car! It is going to be so much fun next year when we can take it to go backcountry skiing. They published the new prices for skipasses 2010/11 and as always it was a price increase but now we won't have to buy any because we have a sled!

Boy or Girl?

It's funny that I'm the only one who is guessing our baby is going to be a boy. The reason is this Ancient Chinese Gender Chart which is supposed to predict the child's gender, based upon the mother's age and the month of conception. But now I found there are several of them out on the internet. With different data! So now I don't know what to believe!

Another thing I have heard is that if the baby's heart rate is over 140 it's a girl and if it's under 140 it's a boy. Both times we listened at the doctor's office the heart rate was 155. 19 days until we find out...

It's a boy!

It's a girl!

Back in O.C.

We are home from a wonderful weekend in Denver. It was so nice to get away from the snow and to walk around in the city wearing only a t-shirt (and pants). We celebrated St. Patrick's day, dined out and went for some shopping. Max went really big and bought a brand new 2010 Yamaha snowmobile and a new trailer for it. I can't wait to try it out! It will be the reason to hope for a bunch of snow for last winter. Actually, the only reason.

Knitting Wishlist for Mom

I found this site on the internet that has thousands of adorable patterns of knitted baby clothes. Managed to narrow my favorites down to ten and I am sending off a wish list to my mother. Made a little collage of what I want.

Milla is fixing

After almost two years of looking at the light switch with no cover I decided to actually do something about it! After all - it's the International Women's Day" today and women can put covers on light switches just as well as men :)

Weekend update

We have had a wonderful weekend with skiing under a blue sky. Even though I put on sunblock I managed to burn my nose. I am looking forward to my week off and so does Rimini. Tonight I am going to stay up late and watch all three of the Stieg Larsson "Millenium" movies. Cozy!

Doctor's Visit #3

This morning was my third doctor's appointment and everything looked good. Got to hear the baby's heartbeat once more and today they were 150 per second. Next time (April 6th) is my second and last ultrasound. Then we get to know if it is a boy or a girl!

What do you think? Scroll down and look right! Guess and click!

This is day four with sun from a clear blue sky and I am loving the doggy walks. Better enjoy it because snow is in the forecast.

New month - new energy!

It has been an incredible sad week. It is so empty with our little Chania gone and we miss her so much. But life must go on. Today I feel better and part of that is because it is a new month. Winter is soon gone and spring almost here. Yesterday we went skiing and had lunch outside in the sun. I had to use a pair of Max's ski pants since I couldn't button my own :)

This week I only work three and a half days and then it is spring break! Last year we went to Mexico, this year we are staying in Steamboat using up our ski passes. I have four more days of skiing left.

On today's schedule is cleaning of the house, a long doggy walk, and some yoga. Welcome First of March!
