Home Sweet Home

We are back from Fort Collins and it is such a relief! Another place to add to the list of towns we would not want to live in. So unbelievable hot, tons of traffic, and not really much to do there. We are so glad to live where we live. But both the rides to and from Fort Collins were nice. Today we went through Rocky Mountain National Park and got up to 12.200 ft.

Today we ordered our new king size bed. Our queen is getting moved to the basement and the guestroom. We also got an 11 inch thick memory foam mattress and two new mattress protectors. Will be delivered in 1-6 weeks. This is how the bed looks like.

Early return

My lovely husband is missing me and is coming back tonight. One night away from me was all he could handle. I feel so loved! He said he is coming home for a food show at the Grand Hotel tomorrow, but I am going to choose to believe he is coming home for me.

Rain and empty house

I have the house to myself for a couple of days. My boys just left to go camping. Yesterday a cold front came in and we've been having heavy rain that is still pouring down. It looks like this weather is here to stay until Tuesday.

I am going to get cozy in the couch and watch a girly movie. Working Mon-Thur 4 hours a week for the next two weeks so tonight will be the first night in over a month I have to set the alarm. Later!

Milla is shopping!

Forever 21 is a store I find extremly cluttery and stuffed with so many clothes I can't see what's what. But if you spend a lot of time going through item by item you can actually find some cute stuff. I really just wanted to buy the blue shirt and the sandals but since $75.00 means free shipping a couple more items ended up in my cart. That's how they get you!

Bursting point

I was hoping not having to complain about any pregnancy symptoms but now I am starting to feel really, really stuffed! I am clumsy, out of shape, out of breath - out of my mind!

Today I am 29 weeks and 4 days pregnant and it feels like I am about to burst. Yesterday I ordered my first maternity clothes, 3 pair of shorts which I hope are going to fit me in size M. Otherwise I am going to cry. It's not only my belly that's growing. Everything else is too and my boobs are starting to look enormous! Max asks me at least once a week whether I think they are going to stay that size. Dream on! Anyhow, enough of complaining! This is how my belly looks like today.

Life's good!

Summer is here. Max too is off work now and we are doing our typical Steamboat summer things. We are working around the house, barbecuing, going swimming, eating out. The only thing I am missing is having a couple of glasses of wine or a margarita. But that's it. Everything else is perfect.

Gifts

Back in Colorado again which feels really nice. This is the state to live in! Summertime that is. Yesterday I went to the post office to pick up a package that came all the way from Sweden. Although I knew what was in it it was fun to open and to look at all the cute stuff my very kind mother had sent me. This is some of the clothes that was in it.

Third trimester is here!

Today is week 27+0 and the beginning of the third trimester. The baby is now about 14.5 inches long and weighs about 2 pounds. Tomorrow we leave for St. Helena, California so I guess I better start packing.

Week 26+0

Today is week 26+0 and I have gained 6 kg. So far this pregnancy seems ridiculously easy compared to what I had in mind. Let's hope it continues that way!

Crib - Check!

I am so proud of myself! Instead of spending more than $200.00 on a new crib and mattress, I found a used one on Craigslist for $75.00 OBO. I offered him $50.00 and he accepted! That's what I call a bargain! The crib and mattress look new and once again I thank my IKEA genes for making it so fast and easy to put together.

Inside is where its at today!

If it wasn't for the dog I wouldn't step outside the door today. Snowing again, and it is May 6th! I have to clean my house and wait for the plumber to come. We have three projects for him that need to get fixed. Other than that this is going to be a relaxing day with a movie and a book.

Sommarlov!

Just got home after taking Betty to the shop to get a new windshield. $225.00! Me and Rimini took a super long walk from the windshield place to one of Max's schools to get lunch. Spaghetti, which tasted wonderful after that hike. Then we went to the hot springs for an hour of relaxation. On the way home I stopped by the bicycle shop and got air for the tires to the stroller. Last stop was the grocery store and now I am going to make some dinner and watch the latest Wallander movie.

Peace of mind

After reading horrible stories on the Internet about babies dying from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome I decided to purchase an Angelcare Movement and Sound Monitor. This Under-the-mattress Sensor Pad detects every movement the baby makes with an alarm that sounds after 20 seconds if absolutely no movement is detected. It also works as a regular sound monitor which I was going to buy anyhow. $46.00 on Ebay (for a brand new unit) instead of $100.00 at the store.

School's out for summer!

Yesterday was graduation and the last day at work. When the reception was over we went home and rested for a few hours before we went back to Steamboat again. We went to the health & rec center and relaxed in the hot springs for an hour. Our membership started yesterday and it was a perfect day to spend soaking in the springs - pretty cold and wet which turned into heavy snow later on. The pool I was in is not as hot as the other springs but just perfect for pregnant women.

Afterwards it was time to go and do prom at the high school. We weren't home until 3.30 in the morning so we slept in to 10.00 a.m. The weather is still unpleasant so we are staying inside cuddling up in front of a fire.
