My mommy heart is aching!

Loke got sick from the shots he got today and has a little fever. Earlier his legs seemed to be really sore from the injections and he was crying for a while. It is so heartbreaking, especially since he never really cries for a long time. But the good news is he should be fully recovered within 48 hours.

The doctor said Loke is doing great! He is growing fast and she said he is long and lean (and super cute!) He is now 25½" and weighs 14 lbs and 5 oz (64.7 cm and 6.52 kg). I found my old digital camera and will be using it until I get the new cord.

Shots and Shoes

Today Loke turns 4 months old! We are celebrating by going to the doctor to get two more shots. Poor baby! I thought I'll get him a little present afterward, we'll see what I can find. So far today I have only bought myself a present - new boots! What do you think?

Ready, Steady, Go!

A new helmet is ordered and so is the avalanche gear. Saturday is the 2010/11 season premier of back country skiing! Exciting!

Oden

Hi everybody! So Oden has arrived but the first thing he did when I took my eyes off him for 10 seconds, was eating the cord for our camera so unfortunately no pictures for a while. I am going to try to write something everyday instead to keep you updated. I have ordered a new cable but it will arrive from Hong Kong and it could take up to a month to get here!

Oden is so cute! I had forgotten how much work it is with a puppy and that combined with having a baby is a little overwhelming but also a lot of fun! It is fine during the weekends when Max is home with us but I fear what's going to happen during the week. It's good Thanksgiving break is coming up soon and after that x-mas break.

We have gotten a bunch of snow and poor Oden is from California and is very hesitant to this cold weather. Time to shuffle!

Gratis är gott!

We found this highchair outside the second hand store this morning. "Free - please take" After a little bit of cleaning it looks almost like new. One less thing to buy - perfect!

Swedish sailor heading to America

Friday we went down to Denver to the Swedish Consulate. Loke now has dual citizenship and Friday we are planning on applying for an American passport so that we are all set for summer. I thought today's outfit was suitable, American colors - Swedish design.

New addition

This cutie is going to move in with us next week! We are so excited! He was born the day before Loke and we are going to name him Oden. Loke & Oden :D

We have lost our wonderful Rimini. The best dog you could ever imagine. So loving, always so happy and so sweet. He could light up the darkest hour and it feels incredible empty without him here with us. We will miss him forever!

New experiences

Yesterday there was no time for blogging due to more important baby things. At 11.00 a.m. it was time for a get together with the Steamboat Newborn Network which held a class in baby massage. It was fun and Loke seemed to like it. After that I had to go to a meeting at work and when that was finished I took Loke to the pool for the first time. He looked soooo cute swimming in the warm water. We will definitely go there soon again and bring the camera so you can see for yourself. The power is back on after a 12 hour outage. So now it's time to catch up on some laundry - but first a cup of coffee!

Glenwood Springs

We spent the weekend in Glenwood Springs. As usual our quality time with each other passed too quickly but it was fun. We went rafting in Glenwood Canyon and later met up with a friend and spent the night at his house. Now cuddle time in front of the fire.

We decided to get away from Steamboat for a weekend and went down to Denver. Saturday we spent at the Zoo. It was fun to see all the animals although I always get sad thinking they don't belong behind bars but should live in their natural environment. Like these for example...

Never thought I would say it, but the outside temperature has finally dropped a little, fall is here, it smells wonderful and we are enjoying our walks a lot more! I took the bassinet out of the stroller thinking Loke would like to look around a little, but it seems like he couldn't care less :)

Lunchbox

I am a lucky mum working in food service. At least I don't have to try making lunch in the middle of diaper changes, feedings and other baby duties. Today's menu: Pork loin with lentils, brown rice, green beans, mango salsa and carrots. Yum!

Monday again...

The weekend past so quickly. It was a good one! Now Monday, me Loke and Rimini are walking along the river and enjoying another warm fall day. Life is pretty good!

Back in Business

We have had visitors here for three weeks why it hasn't been any time for blogging. But as of today there is only the four of us again so I will do my best to keep the blog going with at least one posting a day. It is a lot of work taking care of a baby and not a whole lot is being done. But I will write about my new life as a mom and post pictures of our little angel who is growing so fast and gets cuter and cuter every day. This is the diary I write for myself and for our family and if someone else finds it worth reading it's just a bonus.
